PANDIPATHU- Trekking with TREE Club Trivandrum


I Have Visited 3 Time In Padipath I wish to go again this blog is combined of 3 visit with different groups.


Pandipathu Situated on the Kerala-Tamilnadu border at a distance of 68 Kms from Trivandrum
“Pandi” means Pandinadu which is local name of Tamil Nadu and “Pathu” means ten. Pandipath is 10 miles from Kallar region which might be the reason to name this place as Pandipath,

Pandipathu is located inside Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is famous for large population of Elephant’s, Bear’s, Bison’s, and Different verity of Birds and animals.

We started journey early morning 06:00am from Vattiyoourkave with TREE Club Members for two-day programme. On the way we had good breakfast from Vithura Malabar Hotel it was nice food. Then we proceed to Thodayar Check post and we submit our ID proof and paid forest fee.

From Thodayar check post  we took almost 30 minutes to reach Bonacaude Tea Estate, They were 2 guides are waiting for us Mr. Rajappan and Mutthu. From there we start Trekking and we took group phots of our club members with TREE Club Banner.  a  three hour trek is required to reach the top. The first half an hour trek through the Tea plantation region to reach 3 horse from Bonacaude, On our way through we were taking several Photography of Landscapes, Different kind of Birds, and that made our trek enjoyable. Campfire and trekking programmes also form part of the two-day programme.

 
 
We had Prepared food with support of 2 Guides Mr, Rajappan and Muthhu
We had a nice evening listening to Adv. Thampi’s nice songs and everyone is enjoying with Campfire with dance we were having  happy not to sleep for that night.
 
 
 
 

Early in the morning when the sun rays embraced we start fixing our tripods and start taking photos of sunrise,

and start our trekking towards the 10th mile which the pandinadu. This region has boundaries with Mundanthurai Wild life sanctuary of Tamil Nadu. We saw the 10th mile stone indicating that we are going to cross the boundary. The horse track route to Athirumalai enroute Agasthyarkoodam was clear.

We walked further around 7KM in the Mundanthurai Reserve where there is a watch point of Tamil Nadu Forest Department. The presence of tigers in the region was evident from the pug marks.
 
During our Trekking we found group of Bison's and Elephants playing the valley, we and start taking photos.



 
Suddenly we had scary sound from our back side, my friend Rahul told me don’t be panic there is 2 Elephants with Baby Elephant, my god it was a danger situation


 
We walked further around 3 KM in the Mundanthurai Reserve where there is a watch point of Tamil Nadu Forest Department. we took several Photos of Wilds / Birds and Butterfly's
